Getting to us by car
- Laight Mill is easy to get to by car and the journey takes you through some stunning Scottish countryside.
- We are located off the A76 between Kilmarnock and Dumfries.
- The closest major motorway is the M74 coming down from Glasgow. One can take a choice of exits 11, 12 or 13.

Getting to us by train
- There is a rail station in New Cumnock managed by First Scotrail. The line is on the Glasgow South Western Line 45.5 miles (73.2 km) south west of Glasgow.
- Monday to Saturday there is a two-hourly service northbound to Glasgow central and southbound to Carlisle with two trains a per day southbound towards Stranraer.
- Sundays two trains a day travel in each direction towards Glasgow Central and Carlisle.

Getting to us by bus
- Buses in Western Scotland are provided by Stagecoach buses and there are a number of services that go through New Cumnock.
- For sightseers, there is the very popular Ayr Open Top Tour bus tour that takes you through the sights of Burns' country.
Arriving from abroad
If you're arriving from abroad, Glasgow Prestwick airport is our closest major airport (24 miles/40 km away) served by operators all around the world.
Getting to Laight Mill from the airport is easiest by car, however if you need to use public transport, here is how to do it.
- Take the X77 airport bus to Ayr. For timetables - click here.
- From Ayr, you can take either the 45/48, 46 or 246 bus routes to Cumnock. For timetables - click here.
- Once in Cumnock, our recommendation would be to call Cumnock Taxis on 01290 423 440 and use a taxi for the final leg of the journey to New Cumnock. Cumnock Taxis are found on Glaisnock Street in Cumnock.
- If you would prefer to take a taxi, Ayr Black Taxis (ABT) are the airport's authorised taxi company. These taxis are located outside the main terminal exit within Car Park 2.
